Canadian Experience Class
This class of Canadian immigration will accept applications from international students studying in Canada and temporary workers employed in Canada who have relevant Canadian experience. The one main benefit of this class of immigration is that the person is allowed to apply for permanent residency from within Canada. The time that International students and skilled workers spend in Canada while contributing to Canadian society will now assist in their eligibility to stay permanently.
The applicant must be:
- either an international graduate who successfully completed a program of study of at least two academic years at a Canadian post-secondary educational institution; obtained at least one year of skilled, professional or technical work experience within 24 months of the application date; and possesses moderate or basic language skills, depending on the skill level of his/her occupation;
- or a temporary foreign worker who obtained at least two years of skilled, professional or technical work experience within 36 months of the application date; and possesses moderate or basic language skills, depending on the skill level of his/her occupation.
An applicant who has met the minimum requirements and is still in Canada on either a Post-Graduate work permit or a temporary work permit may apply from within Canada. Individuals no longer in Canada must have an application submitted within one year of leaving their job in Canada.
